We’re looking for a passionate, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as an Independent Contractor Studio Assistant. As an independent contractor, you will have flexibility in managing your schedule, but will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the studio, assisting both our talented artists and clients. You’ll be at the heart of our team, helping to provide an exceptional experience for every guest who walks through our doors. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a love for the tattoo industry, we’d love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Booking Management (Essential):
    Help manage appointments for the artists, ensuring that schedules are organized and clients are matched with the appropriate artist. Stay on top of booking inquiries, assist with confirmations, and ensure a smooth, efficient scheduling process.

  • Assisting Guest Artists (Essential):
    Respond to emails from potential guest artists, assist with booking arrangements, and ensure they have everything they need during their stay at the studio. This includes coordinating their schedules, accommodations, and any special requirements to make their visit seamless.

  • Client Support (Secondary):
    Greet clients warmly, assist with walk-ins, and answer phone calls/emails in a friendly and professional manner. Provide excellent customer service to ensure every client feels welcomed and valued.

  • Administrative Tasks (Secondary):
    Handle essential paperwork, including client forms, consent forms, and other relevant documents. Assist with maintaining accurate records of appointments and basic financial transactions.

  • Inventory Management (Secondary):
    Track inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies, including tattoo equipment and office supplies. Ensure that the studio has the necessary materials for smooth operations.

  • Artist Support (Secondary):
    Assist with general tasks to support the artists, such as helping with client communication, ensuring artists have what they need, and providing any additional administrative assistance.

  • Customer Experience (Secondary):
    Ensure every client has a positive experience, from initial inquiry to post-tattoo follow-up. Foster a welcoming and professional atmosphere at all times, while making sure that the clients' needs are addressed.

Requirements

  • Experience in Customer Service: Prior experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a service-based or creative environment.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both clients and artists, via phone, email, and in person.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, appointments, and client inquiries effectively.

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using scheduling software (such as Square Appointments or similar), Google Workspace, and basic office tools (email, spreadsheets).

  • Independence and Reliability: As an independent contractor, you will be expected to manage your own time and meet deadlines while ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard.

  • Flexible and Adaptable: Ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment, especially when dealing with guest artists and client requests.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in managing appointments, customer information, and paperwork.

  • Passion for the Tattoo Industry: A genuine interest in tattoos and the tattoo industry, with an appreciation for the unique art and culture.

Compensation & Perks

  • Hourly pay: $18 per hour, with opportunities for raises based on performance and growth in responsibilities. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for your own taxes and expenses. In addition to the base pay, you will have the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses for the successful coordination and booking of guest artists. Bonus structure will be discussed during the interview.
